Gen 2: Alice (the movie star)

Alice is the second child of Abigail and Joseph. A little performer already at a young age, she dreamt of the stage in secret, as it was considered inappropriate for a girl of her status and class.

As a teen Alice discovered even more ways she did not fit the norm, as she fell madly in love with her best friend Lizzie (Elizabeth). For the longest time she tried to deny this "unnatural" side of herself, but at university she discovered that Lizzie felt the same way. The two young women were happy for a while, but forgetful of the illegality of their actions. Getting caught kissing by the supervisor of their dorm caused an outrage and the two women were left with a choice. Leave by choice and the events would be forgotten, or fight for your place at the university and be exposed to the world.

Both girls chose to leave. Lizzie returned immediately home where her parents arranged for a hasty marriage to James Duncan, in a hurry to get married and have children to avoid being drafted to WWI. She lived unhappily ever after. Alice on the other hand gambles everything on a ticket to Del Sol Valley, where no one knows her past and where she can make herself known as an actress. The gamble plays off and she becomes a celebrated actress and a global superstar of her time, even surviving the transition to talking movies. She also finds love again in her fellow actress Cora. Overcoming her own fears, she and Cora make a life for themselves as "roommates" and "friends", entertaining Del Sol Valley with their bachelorette lifestyle.

As they both grow older, and the lead roles come more rarely, they buy a house in the Pinnacles where they can live out their remaining lives in peace and comfort, guiding young actors and actresses to fame and fortune.
